TME Screw Element

ZME is a high-intensity distributive mixing toothed element in twin-screw extrusion systems, serving as an upgraded version of TME toothed discs. It is based on a single-flight reverse small-lead screw substrate with forward tooth slots machined on the flights. Combining strong distributive mixing with certain dispersive mixing capacity and full-intermeshing self-wiping performance, it is a core compounding component that balances mixing intensity and anti-stagnation requirements.

  • Disc-Type Toothed Substrate Structure 

    Based on independent circular discs, with multiple sets of teeth evenly distributed around the circumference, presenting a gear/turbine shape overall. There is no continuous helical flight, which is an essential difference from the spiral substrates of SME and ZME elements.

  • Customizable Tooth Profile Parameters 

    Teeth can be designed as straight teeth, forward-inclined teeth or reverse-inclined teeth. Tooth quantity, height and thickness can all be customized to match different mixing intensity and flow pattern requirements.

  • Alternating Intermeshing Arrangement in Groups 

    Usually installed in groups of multiple discs. Toothed discs on the two screws are staggered along the axial direction, with teeth inserted into each other's gaps to form continuous cutting and splitting channels.
