30°/45°/60° Kneading Blocks

Kneading blocks are the core compounding functional components in co-rotating twin-screw extrusion systems, assembled from multiple eccentric kneading discs arranged at a set staggering angle. Driven by the conjugate intermeshing rotation of twin screws, materials undergo continuous shearing, squeezing, folding and splitting-recombination in disc gaps and intermeshing zones, efficiently completing melting & plasticating, dispersive mixing and distributive mixing. They are the key components that determine the compounding precision, product quality and process adaptability of the entire production line.

  • Modular Eccentric Disc Structure 
    Assembled from multiple independent eccentric kneading discs along the axial direction at a fixed staggering angle. Disc thickness, staggering angle and lobe count can be customized as required to flexibly form functional units with different compounding intensities.
  • Conjugate Intermeshing Profile Design 
    The discs adopt a precision conjugate curved surface design. Kneading blocks on the two screws achieve close meshing and wipe each other’s contact surfaces during rotation, delivering good self-wiping performance.
  • Fully Parametric Configuration Customization 
    Multi-dimensional customization is supported by rotation direction (forward/reverse), lobe count (double-lobe/triple-lobe), disc thickness and staggering angle, to accurately match the compounding requirements of different material systems and process targets.

  • Shearing Action for Dispersive Mixing 
    When passing through the crescent gap between the kneading disc and the barrel inner wall, as well as the intermeshing gap between discs, the material bears high-intensity shearing and squeezing forces. This efficiently breaks solid agglomerates such as pigments, fillers and additives to achieve fine dispersive mixing.
  • Splitting & Folding for Enhanced Distributive Mixing 
    As eccentric discs rotate with the screw, they continuously split, redirect, fold and merge the melt, disrupt laminar flow, promote full blending of materials with different components and temperatures, and improve the uniformity of component distribution and temperature field.
  • Squeezing & Compaction for Melting & Plasticating 
    The eccentric structure exerts periodic squeezing and relaxation effects on the material, accelerating the compaction, shear heat generation and melting process of solid materials, and improving plasticating efficiency and melt uniformity.
  • Rotation Direction Difference Regulates Material Flow 
    Forward kneading blocks have weak forward conveying capacity, pushing materials forward while compounding. Reverse kneading blocks create conveying resistance, increase local material fill degree and extend residence time to deepen compounding effect.
