Extruder Open Screw Barrel

The open barrel is a modular barrel unit for twin-screw extruders, featured with top or side through openings, different from fully closed barrels. It contains an 8-shaped twin-bore wear-resistant liner, independent heating & cooling circuits, and temperature sensor ports, dedicated to feeding, venting, side feeding and liquid injection.

• Top-feed open barrel: Large top opening connected to main feeder, with surrounding cooling channels to avoid bridging.
• Vacuum vent barrel: Openings linked to vacuum system to remove moisture and volatiles, equipped with baffles to prevent melt backflow.
• Side feeding barrel: Side openings matched with side feeders for adding glass fiber, mineral powder and low-density fillers.
• Liquid injection barrel: Small holes with check valves for adding liquid additives.
